WarningHelen Thomas, I am writing to you regarding your blatant attempt to sabotage my purchase, harm me financially and slander me personally.
Prior to tendering an offer with you, I explained to you that I was seeking out a new realtor for my real estate needs. I deliberately offered to work solely with you on this transaction for your financial benefit. I hoped for a positive experience with a true real estate professional to continue my investing. I am fully aware of the option period, and the fee involved. Forfeiture of the option fee is a normal procedure in real estate transactions. I have already completed 3 real estate transactions this year, and I have bought / sold more than 15 units in the past three years. In my lifetime, I have "backed out" of 3 real estate transactions. I have paid the option fee each and every time.
I texted you that we would not be proceeding with this purchase during my 35 minute layover in San Francisco this morning. At no time did I intend, say or express any intent not to pay the option fee. However, when I landed in San Diego, I received a barrage of angry and unprofessional text messages and emails from you. In addition, I received email questions from other realtors asking what my relationship was with you. Apparently, you called several realtors, trying to track down my purchase, and slandered me. They quoted your phone calls explicitly warning them not to do business with me. They also stated that you assured them I would back out of their sale.
You had no right or reason to do this, it is morally reprehensible, and unethical. You can be held liable for any financial damage you have caused me by your unethical stalking activity and illegal slander and false statements. Your real estate license carries a very strict, and very explicit fiduciary responsibility. You deliberately acted in an irresponsible manner with intent to harm.
Even faced with your complete breakdown of trust and ethical violations, I will maintain professionalism. I will honor the contract and mail in the option fee as agreed.
However, I do feel it is my duty to warn others of your behavior.
